Global Health Perspectives on Obstetric-Related Pelvic Floor Injury and Disorders

The International Urogynecology Journal invites submissions for a special collection focused on the prevention, diagnosis, management, and long-term impact of obstetric-related pelvic floor injury and disorders in global health settings. This collection seeks to highlight clinical, surgical, psychosocial, and public health perspectives from around the world, with a particular emphasis on challenges and innovations in low-resource and underserved regions.

We welcome original research, reviews, image articles, and commentaries on topics including, but not limited to:

• Obstetric-related vesicovaginal and rectovaginal fistula (VVF and RVF)

• Post–fistula repair urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, and fecal incontinence

• Surgical techniques for obstetric injury–related pelvic floor repairs

• Reintegration and education programs for women undergoing obstetric-related fistula repair

• Mental health considerations for individuals affected by obstetric pelvic floor injury or disorders

• Socioeconomic and medical sequelae following obstetric-related pelvic floor injury or disorders

Through this collection, IUJ aims to advance understanding, improve surgical and rehabilitative care, and support the holistic recovery and reintegration of women affected by obstetric-related pelvic floor injury and disorders worldwide.

Submissions will undergo the journal’s standard peer review process and should be prepared according to IUJ’s author guidelines. Additionally, if the Guest Editor authors an article in the topical collection, he will not handle the peer review process.
