Synthesis and properties of heterocycles as a scaffold for bioactivity: from computational predictions to bioactive agent

Dr. Eng. Agnieszka Łapczuk is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Organic Chemistry and Technology, Cracow University of Technology (Politechnika Krakowska), Kraków, Poland.

Ass. Prof. Agnieszka Łapczuk is a chemist specializing in physical and organic chemistry, with a focus on cycloaddition reactions and the electronic properties of molecules. Her research combines quantum-chemical modeling with mechanistic and experimental studies. In her recent work, she integrates experimental approaches with theoretical analyses based on quantum-chemical calculations within the framework of Molecular Electron Density Theory. She is the author of over 30 research papers published in international journals. She is also engaged in chemical education and science communication, designing creative workshops that combine science, experimentation, and imagination.

Research interests: cycloaddition reactions; heterocycles; nitrocompounds; reaction mechanisms; regio- and stereoselectivity; DFT calculations; molecular electron density theory (MEDT)
