In the version of this article initially published, there was an error in the third paragraph of the “Hereditary phaeochromocytomas and paragangliomas” subsection, where the text now reading “Loss of function of SDH causes accumulation of succinate, which inhibits prolyl hydroxylases and thereby stabilizes hypoxia-inducible factors” replaces the original “Loss of function of SDH causes accumulation of succinate, which activates prolyl hydroxylases and stabilizes hypoxia-inducible factors,” while in Fig. 5, the activating arrow pointing from “Fumarate, Succinate” to “HIF1” appeared originally as an inhibiting arrow.
