Unusual Granular Cell Tumour of Vulva

Background

Granular cell tumour are very rare (0.03%), and about 50% of it arise from head and neck, especially from tongue. They are very rarely seen in the vulva (5–16%). They are mostly seen in 3rd to 6th decades of life and are rare in children. They present as a slow-growing nodule. Germ cell tumours are mostly benign but can also be malignant. The treatment is complete surgical excision of the mass.

Case Report

We here report a case of benign germ cell tumour in a 14-year-old female who presented with vulval mass and finally diagnosed as benign granular cell tumour. Complete tumor resection with appropriate margins was done.

Conclusion

Granular cell tumours have usually good prognosis. A typical granular cell tumour is treated with extensive resection and close follow-up.
