Prognostic Factor Research: The Core of Homeopathy's Scientific Identity

The recent coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic demonstrated how scientists can have opposite opinions. Politicians can find science-based motivations by endorsing a wide variety of solutions for a new illness. Homeopathy could not convince politicians and scientists of its efficacy, despite a respectable number of randomised controlled trials (RCTs) with unexpected results.[1] [2] However, for homeopathic doctors in real-life clinical practice situations, the questions are pragmatic, such as ‘Will this homeopathic medicine work for this patient?’ or ‘Does Gelsemium work if the patient has less thirst than usual?’. Are these scientific questions, and who answers them and how? The COVID-19 pandemic offered an opportunity to explore the use of homeopathy in a new medical problem of public health importance.
