Progestogen Hypersensitivity (PH) is a rare phenomenon primarily diagnosed in women in their 20’s and 30’s.1 The typical presentation of PH is monthly, cyclical, cutaneous eruptions (urticaria, eczema, ulcerated oral lesions, targetoid rash, angioedema) occurring 2-10 days before the onset of menstruation; improvement is usually seen on days 2-3 of menses.1,2 The primary mechanism of PH is not fully understood but arises from a combination of hypersensitivity reactions.1 Definitive diagnosis and treatment can be delayed due to the spectrum of clinical presentations. In recent years, a heightened awareness of PH has led to novel treatment modalities and diagnostic testing.
