Ethical approval

The imaging study protocol was reviewed and approved by the Ethics Committees of Kanazawa University, School of Medicine (protocol number: 113822). The kidney biopsy slides were used for clinical examination that had been preserved. Patients whose samples were used as controls had difficulty giving consent because of completion of the treatment. However, they were provided with an opportunity to express their intentions by veto opt-out from participation in the study.

Human and animal rights

Our case report has data from human subjects, and complies with the guidelines for human studies.

Informed consent

In reporting this case, assent was obtained from the patient and written informed consent was obtained from the parents.
